Aligned began with a simple conviction: that chiropractic, practiced with integrity, changes lives — and the chiropractors who practice it deserve to be supported, not sold to.
In 1995, the field was full of programs promising shortcuts. Quick scripts, tactics, and tricks. What was missing was something quieter and more durable — mentorship rooted in principle, accountable to results, and given freely to anyone willing to put in the work.
So we built it. One office at a time. One conversation at a time. One doctor learning to love their practice again, one practice learning to love their community.

That sentence is not strategy. It is the whole strategy. Everything Aligned does — the mentoring, the Summits, the clinics, the systems — is built around helping doctors give their love to the right things, in the right order, at the right time.
A FAMILY LEGACY
Founded by Dr. Tom Owen.
Carried forward by his son, Tom.
In 1958, Dr. Tom Owen opened his first chiropractic practice with a simple but unwavering belief: chiropractic had the power to transform lives when practiced with excellence, integrity, and purpose. His vision grew quickly. Within three months he opened a second practice. Three months later, a third. Over the decades that followed,
he personally opened more than 100 chiropractic offices and mentored thousands of doctors, helping shape practices—and careers—that would impact countless patients across the country.
But Dr. Owen never viewed chiropractic as merely a profession. To him, it was a calling. A craft to be mastered. A covenant with every patient who entrusted their health to his care. That philosophy became the foundation of everything he taught. Raised inside that world, his son, Tom Owen, didn't simply inherit the family business—he was immersed in the profession from childhood. He spent thousands of hours learning alongside his father while also studying under many of chiropractic's most respected pioneers and educators, including Dr. John and Burt Boutwell, Dr. Bill
Harris, Dr. Clarence Gonstead, Dr. Roy Sweat, Dr. Larry Troxell, Dr. Jim Revels, and many others who helped define the modern chiropractic profession.
When Aligned was founded in 1995, it wasn't the beginning of the mission—it was the next chapter of it. Together, father and son combined decades of real-world experience with proven business principles to create a mentoring organization unlike any other. Their purpose was never simply to help chiropractors survive. It was to help them build practices of significance, create lasting financial freedom, develop exceptional leadership, and
ultimately transform more lives through chiropractic. Together, they have mentored more than 7,500 chiropractors and helped launch or
develop over 2,500 successful practices. Today, the Owen family represents more than 70 consecutive years of hands-on practice management, leadership, and mentoring experience—a depth of knowledge, continuity, and practical wisdom that is simply unmatched anywhere in the chiropractic profession.When Dr. Tom Owen passed away in 2017 at the age of 87, the mission did not end—it simply entered its next generation.
Today, Tom Owen proudly carries that legacy forward. The principles remain unchanged. The commitment remains unwavering. The systems continue to
evolve—refined through decades of experience and enhanced by today's cutting-edge technology—while remaining firmly anchored in timeless chiropractic philosophy and enduring business principles that have stood the test of time. What truly separates Aligned from every other consulting or coaching program is not simply its history, but its approach. There is no one-size-fits-all formula. Every doctor, every practice, every challenge, and every opportunity is different.
